Welcome! This is a guide that contains all of the resources, links and explanations that you will need to get started with Canix.

In Canix, the best way to learn is to do! So for each section, we’ve set it up so that every help article is contained within an action you should take.

If you’re nervous about making mistakes, start in your sandbox first, and practice there!

If you've never seen Canix before, take a look at our Overview here! It will give you a good sense of what we provide. 

 

 

Before Onboarding Starts

Before onboarding starts, there are a few things that you can do to get a head start on Canix

 

Required Action Items

1. Fill out the Intake Form here
2. Send the Canix team POCs (Point of Contacts) for Sales & Fulfillment, Manufacturing, Accounting. If you don’t know who your Canix liaison is, send to help@canix.com

 

Implementation goes smoothest when you prepare your data for upload into Canix. We strongly recommend preparing your data for import into Canix.

Additionally, download / gather the below information, in any format. We will walk through how to upload it on our initial call:

Section 1 - Admin Training

The first step of Canix will be to go through the Admin Training. The Admin training area of Canix is where all of data is set up. 

 

Users and Permission Groups

In this section, you will create all users and permission groups for your facility. Each Checkbox is linked to the resources that you will need to take this action.

Master Data Set Up

Strains and Locations 

In this section, we'll review how to understand your Canix Master Data. This is basically how you'll define your facility.

Section 2 - Cultivation Training (Plant Batches, Plants, and Harvests) 

In Cultivation, there are many different options for how operations work. In this section, we review all of the options for how a cultivation facility may operate, and based on this, provide resources on how to do each applicable action. 

Starting in the Plant Batches section, we'll ask you a few questions, and proceed to guide you through the process of how to do each step.

 

Plant Batches 

• What sources to do you get your immature plants from?

Section 3 - Cannabis Inventory Training (Packages).

Packages

In this section, we will review the Packages section of Canix. We'll review: 

• How to change package forms, and turn one piece of inventory into another (Split / Combine Package) 
• How to adjust packages for quantity changes 
• How to discontinue packages
• How to utilize Lot ID OR Production Batch to Track Packages through their lineage  
• How to organize your package inventory utilizing Custom Package statuses
• How to tag and organize your inventory utilizing Label Templates

1. Review all Packages, and ensure that that your physical inventory matches your digital inventory. The best way to do this is to review the report here:

COAs and Lab Tests

Canix also has extensive means of Managing COAs. The most important piece of information to review here is this Guide on Managing COAs.

• Uploading COAs (Automatic Upload from Metrc, Automatic Upload from Confident Cannabis, Manual) 
• COA transfer in split packages 
• COAs in Sales Orders

1. Decide if you are going to use the Confident Cannabis Integration, and if so, add your credentials 
2. (Metrc Only) Compare your packages with COAs in Metrc vs. your packages with COAs in Canix. Do they match exactly? 
3. Split a Package and select "Copy Lab Test Results from Source". Do you see how the COAs carry from the Parent Package to the Child Package? 

 

Section 4 - Non-Cannabis Inventory Training (NCI)

Section 5 - Production Training

Now that you've seen both Cannabis and Non-Cannabis Inventory, it's time to move onto the Production module of Canix. In this module, you'll learn how to take cannabis and non-cannabis material, and turn it into a new item with accurate costs attached. 

The benefit of using the Production Module is you'll be able to: 

• Track necessary inputs, and understand if you need to re-order materials 
• Track yields of an entire Manufacturing Process, at each step in the Process
• Compare expected outputs to actual outputs
• Set up templates for quick set up

Section 6 - Sales Training

Canix has a very extensive sales module, with many different options on how you can create sales orders.

We recommend taking a look at the video below, which shows our most popular feature (Scanning onto Sales Orders). This will give you a sense of how the Sales Orders work.

Section 7 - Costing and Accounting
