Overview
Canix supports the ability to discontinue packages directly for Metrc-integrated facilities. This streamlines workflows by eliminating the need to switch to Metrc for this action and ensures accurate Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) tracking by returning COGS and quantities to the appropriate source packages.
Why Discontinuing in Canix Matters
Discontinuation of Packages in Canix allows for complete and accurate COGS reporting. Additionally, COGS associated with the discontinued weight can be properly returned to source packages, ensuring financial records are up to date.
Discontinue Packages in Canix allows teams to:
-
Handle package deactivation natively in Canix
-
Automatically return COGS and weight to source packages
-
Maintain complete inventory and financial accuracy
When to Use "Discontinue Packages"
⚠️ Packages that have already been used in any capacity cannot be discontinued. Attempting to do so will result in an error from Metrc.
Use this action when:
-
A package was created in error
-
The package is lost, damaged, or no longer usable
-
The package has not yet been used (e.g., not adjusted, transferred, repackaged, or sold)
