Quantity Reservations work with Canix's Manufacturing Module to reserve Cannabis Source Quantity while performing manufacturing processes to ensure available quantity in Canix. This is a Canix-only concept and does not change quantities in your compliance systems. In this article, you will learn more about the new quantities displayed around Canix, and how quantity reservations work in manufacturing.

Source Cannabis Quantity Reservations
As packages are selected as source inputs in a manufacturing run, the quantity assigned to the run is automatically reserved on the package. This quantity is reserved until a compliance output package tag is submitted in the same run, at which point the quantity is deducted to create the output package. The quantity is also reserved while intermediary output packages are created from the source compliance package until a compliance output package is created from the intermediary sources.
Reserved Quantities for source compliance packages are displayed in Canix in the Packages Table and the Package Detail Page.
- Packages Table
The Packages Table has two new columns, Reserved Quantity and Usable Quantity- Reserved Quantity - If any amount of a package is allocated as a source to an unsubmitted manufacturing run, that amount will be shown in the Reserved Quantity. If an intermediary package was created from the source, this quantity will remain reserved until a compliance output package tag is created from the intermediary package.
- Usable Quantity - The Package Quantity minus the Reserved Quantity results in the Usable Quantity. This is the quantity available to adjust, sell, use in other manufacturing or packaging activity, etc. An error will result when trying to take action on more quantity than available as Usable Quantity.
- Package's Detail Page
Reserved quantities and the manufacturing run the package reservation is associated with can be found in the package detail page. Select the blue text to go to the run where the package is reserved.
How to Remove Cannabis Quantity Reservations
- To remove a reservation amount on a package tag, navigate to Inventory > Packages > Select the Package Tag > View Detail
- The Quantity Reservations card at the bottom of the Package Detail screen will show each run that has quantity reserved of the tag
- Select the manufacturing run you would like to remove the Quantity Reservation from
- On the manufacturing run, select the ellipses on the right side of the package
- Select Remove Input. The quantity reserved on the run of the package will be removed from the Reserved Quantity quantity of the package
Source Non-Cannabis Quantity Reservations
As non-cannabis products are used as inputs in a manufacturing run submitted for pending approval, the quantity assigned to the run is automatically reserved on the NCI product. This quantity is reserved until the pending approval submission is Approved, at which time it is deducted and associated with the created outputs.
If you do not have pending approvals enabled for manufacturing runs, non-cannabis reservations do not apply to your facility. Use the columns bar on the non-cannabis products table to remove the Usable and Reserved quantity columns to make the table cleaner for your facility's data.
