In BioTrack, packages must be scheduled for destruction 72 hours before they can be destroyed. They can be destroyed at any point after 72 hours, but cannot be edited while in the scheduled for destruction stage.
Follow the steps below to schedule a package for destruction:
- Navigate to Packages > Active view
- Select one or more packages that need to be scheduled for destruction
Note: The selected packages must not have a status of "In Quarantine" or a custom status that restricts editing the package - Select Actions > Schedule for Destruction
- Fill in the required details for scheduling package destruction:
- Destroy Reason - Select from a list of BioTrack synced destroy reasons
- Destroy Note - Enter a note explaining the reason for scheduling the destruction
Once you’ve completed these fields, select Submit to schedule the destruction of the packages.
What Happens Upon Submission
Successful Submission:
- If the submission to BioTrack is successful:
- The modal will close automatically.
- A success toast message will be displayed confirming the scheduling.
- The submission details will appear in the Submissions Table as successful.
- The packages will be "Scheduled for Destruction" and will start a 72 hour countdown until they can be destroyed.
- Packages appear on the Scheduled for Destruction packages table view
Failed Submission:
- If the submission fails:
- The modal will remain open.
- A failed toast error message will be displayed, and the packages will remain unchanged.
- The Submissions Table will display the error details for each failed package submission.
