New York’s Metrc implementation requires operators to identify whether each package is a Finished Good. Finished Goods must be associated with a Retail Item ID, while non-finished goods do not.
To support this requirement, Canix now includes a Finished Good toggle in all package creation flows for New York facilities and displays this status throughout the application for clear visibility and compliance.
Overview
New York operators must explicitly mark packages as Finished Goods when submitting data to Metrc. Canix now provides a dedicated toggle for this designation and displays the Finished Good status in both the Packages Table and the Package Details Page.
This improvement ensures:
Accurate reporting to Metrc
Easy identification of Finished Goods during audits or QA
Reduced manual rework through automatic toggle persistence per item
When the Finished Good Toggle Appears
The Finished Good toggle is available only for users operating in New York Metrc facilities. It appears in the following package creation and modification workflows:
Split Package
Combine Package
Create Package from Manufacturing Run
For all other states, the toggle and Finished Good column are hidden.
Using the Finished Good Toggle
How to Mark a Package as a Finished Good
Open any supported package creation flow in a New York facility.
Under the Package Details section, locate the Finished Good toggle.
Enable the toggle to mark the package as a Finished Good.
Continue completing the flow as usual.
What the Toggle Does

Default Behavior
If an item has no previously stored Finished Good value, the toggle defaults to OFF.
