Remediating packages in Canix allows your compliance actions to remain in Canix. Each state has different requirements for remediation methods and steps, and you should consult your state's regulations or Metrc if needing clarity on your remediation processes. See one of Metrc's best practice guides for further explanation on the two methods outlined below.
In this article, you will learn how to process remediated packages in Canix.
- Remediation Processes Requiring Package Adjustments
- Remediation Processes Requiring Converting Packages
Remediation Processes Requiring Package Adjustments
Canix currently supports remediation processes that only require a package adjustment, to account for further drying for example.
- Navigate to Inventory > Packages > Active and select 1 or more packages to be remediated
Note - the package status must be In Progress, Available to Sell, or a custom status that allows for the package to be edited. - Select Actions > Adjust Packages action
- Adjust the package quantity down to account for moisture loss, and select the adjustment reason that applies to your process and facility (these are different per state per facility type)
- From the Inventory > Packages > Active table, select the packages you just adjusted > Actions > Remediate Packages
- Enter the remediation date, method, and steps taken to remediate
- Method - there are accepted Methods in Metrc, but these are not available in their API to sync the right methods for each state and facility type. Ensure the method entered is exactly as used in Metrc previously (i.e. Drying, Destruction)
- Steps - this is a free form field to explain any steps taken to remediate the product (i.e. 1 week extra drying)
- Select Submit to process the remediation in Metrc.
Warning: Do not take actions to retest the package until the test status of the package is Remediated. This may require you to Refresh Metrc Data to receive the new test status from Metrc sooner.
Remediation Processes Requiring Converting Packages
Canix does not currently support remediation processes requiring extraction/further processing, for example High Heat and Hydrocarbon-Based Extraction methods. Please vote for this Canny feedback post if this is an action you would like to take in Canix so our product team can better understand the need for this feature.
