Lot IDs are a free-form Canix-only package field to represent an ID for a group of packaged inventory, such as a batch or production lot. This field does not submit to Metrc and does not affect official test result lineage in Metrc like the production batch field does. This field can be used for inventory that isn't tested in place of using an official production batch field.
In this article, we'll cover how to add Lot IDs after packages have been created.
Lot IDs can also be added to packages when creating them from harvest, splitting or combining packages, or creating output packages in manufacturing. See the help center articles for the other actions to add Lot ID in the same workflow.
Assign Lot ID from Packages Table
- Navigate to Inventory > Packages (any package view can be used)
- Filter for or select packages that will be a part of the same Lot ID
Note - this action can be taken on all results in the table so you do not need to select all packages if everything in the filtered result should be affected by the action - Set the new Lot ID and select Assign to update the packages
Assign Lot ID when viewing Package Details
- Navigate to Inventory > Packages (any package view can be used)
- Select the package tag for updating the Lot ID
- Enter the new Lot ID in the side panel
- This auto-saves shortly after you are done typing and will display a green check mark in the field when successfully saved.
Warning - do not close the side panel until you see the green check mark confirming it's been updated.
