Order Metrc Plant Tags and Package Tags

The designated Metrc account manager will be able to order Metrc Plant Tags and Package Tags electronically in Metrc.

1. Log in to Metrc
2. From the top navigation bar, click Admin > Tag Orders
3. Click on the Current tab > New Tag Order
4. Fill out all fields in the form and click Place Order

Receive Metrc Tags into Metrc

When your tag shipment is physically received, you'll need to mark the tag order as Received in Metrc to confirm receipt and activate them.

• Tags must be “Received” in Metrc before they can be assigned to a Plant or Package.
• Do not "Receive" tags that have not yet physically arrived at your facility.

2. From the top navigation bar, click Admin > Tag Orders
3. Click on the Current tab
4. Click on the order you have physically received and click Receive on the right side of the screen

Info About Metrc Tags

There are two types of tagged inventory in Metrc: Plants and Packages. Each unique identifier (UID) tag uses radio-frequency identification (RFID) transponders that allow for automatic remote reading and identification of the tagged product. The tag numbers allow Metrc to track and trace all cannabis products through the commercial cannabis supply chain. Information electronically embedded in the tags includes the facility name, business license number, the date the tag was ordered, a unique 24-digit identification number, and a bar code that matches the identification number programmed on the RFID.

• For First-Timer Metrc users - after Metrc access has been granted, the designated account manager will be able to order your Plant and Package tags.
• You don’t want to run out of Plant or Package tags, as you aren't allowed to operate without them as you would have inventory that couldn’t be recorded in Metrc.
