How to connect the Bluetooth adapter to a Ohaus Ranger 3000 scale
 

Prerequisites

• Must have an Ohaus Scale, this article covers the Ohaus Ranger 3000 instructions
• Must have the Bluetooth Adapter Kit, see our Hardware Guide

Instructions

1. Ensure that the power adapter and all peripherals are unplugged from the scale
2. Carefully remove the stainless steel platform from the top of scale and place aside
3. Carefully flip the scale upside down and rest it on a flat surface to expose the underside
4. Remove the red plastic panel (pictured) to reveal the ports, the RS232 port is the horizontal port oriented at the front of the scale
5. Connect either side the RS232 extension cable to RS232 port adjust both side screws on the port to ensure the extension remains secured
6. Allow the extension cable to run out the back of the scale, snap off the middle plastic inlet on the red plastic panel to make sure the cable as room and replace the red panel on the underside of the scale
7. Carefully flip the scale back on its feet and replace the stainless steel platform
8. Connect the Bluetooth adapter to the now-connected RS232 extension cable and plug both devices into their respective power supplies
