Canix is always looking for ways to save you time, that's why we created Saved Views. This feature provides an easier way for users to view the same filtered and sorted data when opening a report or table.
What is it?
Depending on the report, you may be looking for the same specific view each time and need the ability to save this for easier access in the future. Saved Views is a feature within Canix that gives you the ability to create unique views of that table that can be accessed without having to build the same report from scratch each time you log in. This includes saving column orders, column filters, column sorting, column width, and which columns are enabled/disabled from view.
How to use it?
To build a Saved View,
- Navigate to a table - example Inventory > Packages
- In the upper-right, ensure that Active is selected
- Then update your filters and sorting to create a view you wish to save
- Once all columns and rows have updated to your desired view, select Save > Save View As...
- When Saving a New View you have a few options:
- Default facility filter to the active facility - This option is helpful when saving a view that you intend to use across different facilities. Instead of creating a new view for each facility, check this box and access the same view from any of your facilities with the current facility set in the filters.
- Make a new default view - If you find yourself constantly applying the same filters, this will help you save time and immediately load the information most relevant to you.
-
Save view for user vs Save view for company: If you’re the only person using the report, select “Save view for user”. If you’d like your entire company to have access, select “Save view for company”.
To update or overwrite a Saved View,
- Navigate to a table - example Inventory > Packages
- In the upper-right select Active to open the drop-down
- Select the view you wish to update
- Adjust your filters and sorting
- In the upper-right click Save > Save View
- A confirmation message will appear in the top-right that the report was successfully updated
To delete a Saved View,
- Navigate to a table example Inventory > Packages
- In the upper-right click Active to open the drop-down
- Select the view you wish to delete
- Select the edit icon next to the report title
- Select Delete View in the pop up that appears
