File Requirements and Validation
For a successful upload, the file must contain six specific columns: package tag, item name, quantity, weight unit, current cannabis COGS, and reason for the COGS update. This structured approach guarantees that all necessary data points are captured for accurate COGS management.
To maintain data integrity, the system performs a validation check against existing records. If the package tag, item name, quantity, and weight unit in the upload do not match the facility's current records for that package tag, the system will flag the row as failed and exclude it from the COGS update. This ensures that COGS updates are accurate and applicable to the correct inventory items.
Facility-Specific Updates
The COGS upload feature is designed to apply updates at the facility level, allowing for precise control and management of inventory records within individual facilities. This specificity ensures that updates are relevant and do not inadvertently affect other facilities' data.
Error Checking and Corrections
The system's error-checking mechanism is designed to catch and help correct several types of errors, including:
- Format Errors: Issues with the file format or structure, such as missing columns or incorrect file types.
- Data Inconsistencies: Mismatches or inconsistencies in data entries, like incorrect package tags or numerical errors in COGS values.
- Duplication Errors: Instances of duplicate entries that could lead to inaccuracies in the COGS data.
- Missing Information: Detection of any required information that might be missing from the uploaded file.
You are guided through each step to identify and rectify these errors. The goal is to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the data you upload, even if your initial file isn't perfect.
Permissions for Using the Uploader
Access to this feature is granted to users with Edit permissions for the Inventory > Packages > Non-Compliance Action AND Admin > Facility Data Uploader > Cannabis Cogs.
