Alphanumeric Fields
Canix’s uploader allows any character to be uploaded in alphanumeric fields. Validation will be run to make sure certain fields match certain lists in your facility like Location, Brand, or Owner (See Referencing Other Data Objects for more on this). Uploads to Alphanumeric fields are not case-sensitive.
Example of an Alphanumeric Field Value, Internal Lot ID:
Value in Facility Data Uploader
#0524MAY |
---|
Value Uploaded to Canix
#0524MAY |
---|
Numeric Fields
Canix’s uploader validates for any special characters in numeric fields, to ensure that the values entered are correctly uploaded. The special characters will not be included in the upload.
Example of a Numeric Field Value, Cannabis COGS:
Value in Facility Data Uploader
+200 |
---|
Value Uploaded to Canix
200 |
---|
Special Characters Canix Validates for when uploading Numeric Fields
The following special characters will be ignored if included in a Numeric field:
` | ~ | ! | @ |
---|---|---|---|
# | $ | % | ^ |
& | * | ( | ) |
- | _ | + | = |
{ | } | [ | ] |
\ | : | ||
“ | ‘ | < | > |
, | . | ? | / |
Leading / Trailing Spaces
Trailing spaces will be removed from alphanumeric and numeric values. Leading spaces will be removed from alphanumeric and numeric values.
Duplicates
If a duplicate of the Object being uploaded is found in the upload, Canix will only upload or update the first instance of the object in the file.
Example
Uploading the Item “Blue Dream Bulk Flower”
Item Name |
---|
“Blue Dream Bulk Flower” |
“Blue Dream Bulk Flower” |
Only the first row would be uploaded since both rows contain the exact same Item Name. The second row would fail.
Date Fields
Date Fields should always be entered in the standard United States Date Format: MM - DD - YY.
Leading / Trailing Zeros
Canix will not remove leading or trailing zeros from alphanumeric and numeric values. Please ensure that any leading or trailing zeros that you do not want to be uploaded are removed beforehand.
Case Sensitivity
Uploading through Canix’s Bulk Uploaders is not Case Sensitive. Canix will upload whatever text has been entered into the upload file. Please confirm that the text you are uploading contains the case that you would like.
Example
Uploading an Item of the name:
bulk flower |
---|
Will be uploaded in the lowercase.
This is especially important to confirm when referencing other data objects in Canix, as explained below.
Referencing Other Data Objects
Some Canix Facility Data Uploads require the referencing of other Canix data within the upload. When referencing another Canix Data Object, the Object referenced in the upload must exactly match the Object within Canix. This includes capitalization. If the Object included in the upload does not match the Object within Canix exactly, the upload will not be successful.
Example
Uploading a Package that will be associated with the Item “Blue Dream Bulk Flower”:
-
Upload that will not be successful (Item name does not match exactly).
Item
Blue Dream bulk Flower -
Upload that will be successful (Item name does match exactly).
Item
Blue Dream Bulk Flower
When referencing Canix Data Objects in Facility Data Uploads, entering a value that is not already created in Canix beforehand in the referencing field will not create the new Object in Canix.
Referencing the following Data Objects in a Facility Data Upload must be exact:
- Items
- Locations
- Strains
- Users
- Vendors
- Brands
- Category
- The name of the Non-Cannabis product categories
- Non-Cannabis Products
- Referenced on the Lots uploader as “Product Unique Identifier”.
