Overview
Use the Package Unrooted Clones action to convert cuttings from a mother plant into an inventory package tracked in Biotrack.
Steps
1. Navigate to the Plants section Go to the Plants table and locate the mother plant you want to take clones from.
2. Select the mother plant Click the mother plant's row to select it (e.g., tag #1011).
3. Open the action menu Click Actions → Package Unrooted Clones.
4. Fill out the package form
| Field | What to do |
|---|---|
| Source Tag | Auto-filled with the mother plant's tag — confirm it's correct |
| Number of Clones | Enter the quantity going into this package |
| Package Date | Defaults to today; edit if needed |
| Inventory Room | Select the room where the clones will be posted |
| Item | Select the appropriate clone item type |
| Lot ID | Optional — add one if desired |
5. Submit Click Submit. A success confirmation will appear.
6. Verify in Inventory Packages Go to the Inventory Packages table. Filter by Package Date to quickly locate the new clone package and confirm it was created from the correct mother plant.
Tips
- The mother plant remains in your system after clones are packaged — it is not consumed or removed.
- Use the Lot ID field to group clones by batch or strain for easier tracking downstream.
- If the package date needs to reflect a past date (e.g., clones were cut yesterday), adjust it before submitting.
