All facilities in Canix now have the option to manually upload test results. Previously lab results reflecting in Canix was only an option for Metrc and Confident Cannabis customers. Now customers can manually upload lab results that were done in house, or from unofficial COA (Certificate of Analysis) results from a third party lab. If users have multiple Lab Results in Canix, by default we will show results pulled in from Metrc first, then Confident Cannabis and lastly the manually uploaded results.
Manually Uploaded Results will only show on Packages and Labels in Canix if:
- The test date for the lab results are more recent than any other test results for that package in Canix
- There are no Metrc or Confident Cannabis results for the package:
- Metrc results will take precedence over Confident Cannabis and Manually Uploaded test results, regardless of the tested date.
- Confident Cannabis results will take precedence over Manually Uploaded test results regardless of the tested date.

Uploading Lab Results
From the Web Application:
- To upload Lab Results you will need access to the "Manual Lab Results" permission under "Facility Data Uploader". Contact your Canix admin to request access.
- Navigate to Inventory > Lab Tests > Lab Test Results or Admin > Facility Data Uploader > Manual Lab Tests
- Select Import Lab Tests > Download Template
- This will download a blank template that can be completed with Lab Results and saved
- To optionally auto-populate the template with specific package tag numbers you intend to upload results for, simply search by tag number in the Tag field and check the box next to each package to be included before clicking Download Template
- Once you have completed the Template, select Import Lab Tests > Upload File
💡 Note: If the package already has test results from Metrc or Confident Cannabis, manual test results will not be shown. - Select the correct file to upload
- Ensure all data is correct by confirming the mapping of the uploaded columns.
- Review & finalize the Import by confirming the data is correct and checking for "Invalid Rows", the uploader will highlight the specific cells that have errors, for example a Lot ID that does not exist in the app, or an incorrect Package tag:
- Once confirmed, select Submit
- You should then receive a notification from Canix, "Successfully imported Manual Lab Tests"
Now that these Lab Results have been uploaded into Canix you can view them in various locations throughout Canix. - To view upload history, visit Admin > Facility Data Uploader and select "Manual Lab Tests"

Lab Tests Configuration
The THC and CBD results to be displayed in labels differs between states, and even facility types. In some states, regulations require Total THC, while others may require THC or variations like THCa. Because of this, Canix now lets users control which result to reference when displaying results labeled “Preferred THC” and “Preferred CBD” in labels based on their facility’s regulations.
From the Web Application:
- Navigate to Inventory > Lab Tests > Lab Results Settings
- Select one or more Item Type and select Configure
Note: Notice the facility associated with each item type to ensure you are setting the correct value for each facility’s regulation.
- Select from the drop down menu which THC and CBD data you would like to be presented as the preferred THC and CBD to be displayed for the selected item types and facilities in Canix. Select Save
Uploading Certificate of Analysis
A package's Certificate of Analysis (COA) can be uploaded directly into Canix to be associated with a package. Note: When uploading COAs to packages it will not back-fill to any previously associated subsequent packages. Uploading the COA will only apply to new child packages created going forward.
From the Web Application:
- Navigate to Inventory > Packages > Active
- Search or filter to find the associated test package
- Scroll to the right, and under COA column select Upload

Your computer's file browser will appear, select the COA and click Open
- Note: Only 1 manually uploaded COA can be associated to each package
