Metrc does not currently allow for untracked items to be added to your inventory, as such in preparation for transitioning your account to Metrc you will need to get all seeds into your Canix account so that they can be tracked.

1. If you have not already transitioned to Metrc
   1. Create a Seed Item
   2. Package Seeds
   3. Create a New Plant Batch (optional)
2. If you have already transitioned to Metrc
   1. Create a Seed Item
   2. Package Seeds from Harvest
   3. Unpack into Plantings (optional)

If you have not already transitioned to Metrc

On the Canix Web Application, follow these steps:

1. Create a Seed Item
2. Package the Seeds
3. Create a New Plant Batch

Create a Seed Item

To ensure you're tracking this inventory correctly, you'll need to create a Seeds (count) Item type:

1. Navigate to Admin > Facility Data > Items > +Create Items
2. Complete the required fields, including:
   1. Name: We suggest using the nomenclature "STRAIN - Seeds (count)"
   2. Item Type: Seeds (count)
   3. Strain: Select Matching Strain from typing in drop-down
   4. Weight Unit: Each
   5. Leave the Unit Details section blank
3. Select Create Item

Package Seeds

After you've created the Seed Item Type, you will then Package those Seeds:

1. Navigate to Inventory > Packages > Active
2. Select Action > Create Package > From Untracked Item
3. Use the next available tag
   • Item: Input the new Seed Item you've just created
   • Weight: Input the number of seeds
4. Select Create

Create a New Plant Batch (optional)

If you intend on planting the seeds before transitioning to Metrc:

1. Navigate to Plants > Plant Batches > Active > Actions
2. Select Create Batch > From Clone or Seeds
3. Complete all required fields
4. Select Create Plant Batch

If you've planted all the Seeds, finish the package.

If you still have seeds leftover, use Adjust Packages to adjust the Package quantity to remove the amount you planted.

If you have already transitioned to Metrc

On the Canix Web Application, follow these steps:

1. Create Two Item Types
2. Package the Harvested Seeds
3. Unpack into Plantings

After creating the item types, you will then package the harvested Seeds.

1. Navigate to Inventory > Packages > Active
2. Click Action > Create Package > From Harvest
3. Complete the required fields, including:
   1. Use the next available tag
   2. Harvest: Input the Harvest to package Seeds from
   3. Item: Input the new Seed Item you've just created
   4. Weight: Input the number of seeds
4. Click Create

Unpack into Plantings (optional)

When you're ready to plant the Seeds, you will use the Seed Packages you created.

1. Navigate to Inventory > Packages > Active
2. Click Action > Unpack into Plantings
3. Select the Seeds Package you wish to unpack
4. Follow the rest of the steps in Unpack Plantings from Packages
