Preparing Equipment

Connect the SerialIO Adapter to the RS232 port on the back of the Scale Indicator unit.

Power on the Defender 3000 indicator.

Power on the charged Serial IO adapter by pressing the button on the front

Plug it into the back of the indicator. (You should see a green light glowing on the adapter)

Set Up the Scale

Now that the scale is powered and the adapter is plugged into the indicator, enter the setup menu by holding down the Tare/Menu button.

Use the Yes/No/Back keys to navigate through the menu.

Enable Stable Only
Menu > Print > Stable Only > On -
Set Stable Only in auto print
Menu > Print > Auto Print > Stable Only -
Turn on both Gross and Net
Menu > Print > Content > Gross > On
Menu > Print > Content > Net > On -
Disable Parts Counting
Menu > Mode > Count > Off -
Verify Baud is 9600
Menu > Print > Baud > 9600 -
Open the Canix Mobile Application and select Connect To Scale in the left-hand menu on the home screen (make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone)

Select the adapter in the list (should be at the top, same ID that’s printed on the side of the adapter).
You should now be able to use Auto-Harvest and read scale weights from inside the Canix Mobile Application.
