Do I need a Server to use Canix?
No, Canix is accessed using your internet web browser, such as Chrome.
How do I access Canix?
In your web browser, navigate to app.canix.com to log into your Canix account. If you do not have a login, contact your Canix admin to create a new user for you.
What's the recommended web browser to use Canix?
It is recommended to use Chrome for the most optimal experience with Canix.
What are the minimum internet speeds to support Canix?
More information on internet speeds and testing your speeds can be found here. Canix recommends:

a minimum of 3 Mpbs for your upload speed.

a minimum of 25 Mbps for your download speed.
- a latency of less than 100ms.
What Hardware do I need?
The following scales, scanners and printers are recommended by Canix. Many other models work with Canix, these are just a recommendation. Contact Support with any questions on integrating your existing hardware or hardware you are looking to purchase.

Scales
Scales do not directly integrate with Canix. Therefore, you can use whichever scale works best for your operations.
- OHaus Defender 3000 - larger operations, such as for weighing harvested plants
- OHaus Ranger 3000 - smaller operations, such as for weighing packaged goods
While these scales are recommended, you can use your existing scales or purchase different scales than listed here. Contact Support if you have questions on integrating your existing scales or other scales you would like to purchase.
Scanners
The scanners below are recommendations, but is not a full list of scanners supported with Canix. Contact Support if you have questions on integrating your existing scanners or other scanners you would like to purchase.
- Tera Barcode Scanner with Stand (supports both barcode and QR code scanning)
- Inateck Barcode Scanner (supports barcode scanning ONLY)
- Zebra RFD8500 RFID Scanner (supports RFID scanning ONLY)
2D Scanners that are not RFID-enabled can be used to scan regular barcodes and QR Codes. 1D Scanners can only scan barcodes, not QR Codes. RFID Scanners often do not have an additional 2D or 1D scanner, and can only scan RFID-enabled labels.
For Metrc facilities, RFID scanners save valuable time when scanning plant and package inventory.

Printers
Depending on your needs, the following printers are recommended by Canix. However, any printers that can print from a PDF document are supported by Canix. Contact Support if you have questions on integrating your existing printers or other printers you would like to purchase.

Do I need a tablet or mobile devices to use Canix?
No, Canix works best on a laptop or desktop computer to view reporting and large sets of information easily. Canix can operate on mobile devices, like tablets, when using a Chrome browser in Desktop Mode. This removes special mobile formatting that may not be supported in Canix.
